Chocolate Stout Brownies

by Jasmine Comer

Ingredients

8 oz semi sweet baking chocolate

¾ cup butter (1 ½ sticks)

½ cup stout

1 ½ cups sugar

3 eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup flour

¼ cup cocoa powder

½ tsp salt

½ cup chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° F.
  2. Line an 8″ x 8″ pan with parchment paper.
  3. Add the butter and chocolate to a large bowl.
  4. Melt the chocolate in the microwave using 30 second increments, stirring after each increment. The chocolate should be nice and smooth, but don’t let it get too hot.
  5. After the mixture cools a little, stir in the stout.
  6. Then, whisk in the sugar.
  7. Whisk in the eggs, one by one. Make sure not to overmix.
  8. Then, whisk in the vanilla.
  9. Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Make sure not to overmix.
  10. Then, fold in the chocolate chips.
  11. Pour the batter into your prepared pan.
  12. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownie comes out (mostly) clean without. There ay be a small amount of brownie stuck to the toothpick, but that is fine.
  13. Enjoy!

#repost @backhomebeer @EATER came out a few month #repost @backhomebeer

@EATER came out a few months ago to film the story behind Back Home Beer. They beautifully captured exactly what I’m trying to do - change the narrative that exists between Alcohol & The Middle East.
I’m asking you to please watch the documentary on YouTube (link in bio).
I think it will put into perspective why I’m so passionate about opening my own little piece of Iran right here in Brooklyn. And if you want to help me do that, you can also click on the @KICKSTARTER to check out some of the amazing rewards I have available!
More to come about the eater piece in the coming days. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and I got to work with such a thoughtful and compassionate group of folks. I am forever grateful for the platform.
