Women in Beer: Brazil

We are excited to announce our virtual international tasting event, Women in Beer: Brazil, hosted by The Undeniable Vixen, Pink Boots Society – NTX Chapter, and Beer is for Everyone.

 

The virtual happy hour will highlight women in the craft beer industry in Brazil. The event will be transmitted in English and Portuguese. A link to register for the event and to receive reminders will be in the link in our bio.

 

We will be tasting and discussing the flavor profiles of two beers that are available to buy in Brazil and the US, and that showcase Brazilian flavors and culture. We suggest that you buy these beers as soon as possible, as there may be delays in shipping. If you have any trouble finding or buying the beers, please contact the organizers.

1) Sierra Nevada’s Wild Little Thing Sour

SPEAKER BIOS:

Bruna Borges is a journalist, economist, and lover of the beer world. She’s a member of the group Lupulindas of the Amazon, made up of women who love beer. They meet up for tastings, to discuss styles, and to drink. She is also part of the current leadership of ACERVA in Pará, which is part of the national ACERVA organization in Brazil.

 

Madu Victorino is a pharmacist who has received a degree in beer technology. She is one of the co-founders of Pretas Cervejeiras, a collective of Black women based in Rio de Janeiro who form community around beer. She is currently finishing her training as a beer sommelier.

 

Jessica Leitão is an architect and project manager. Her passion for craft beer and Amazonian culture led her to co-found Cervejaria Uriboca, a brewery based in Belém – Pará.

 

Dr. Kerri Brown is an anthropologist, researcher, and writer based in Belém and Dallas. She is part of the writer’s collective for the non-profit organization Beer is for Everyone. She is a lover of craft beer and travel, and is passionate about issues of inclusion and diversity in the beer industry.

Esse Happy Hour Virtual destaca mulheres brasileiras na indústria de cerveja artesanal e será transmitido em inglês e português. Preencha o formulário no link da bio para se inscrever e receber notícias.
