When pub landlord @lizsomethingsomething was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, everything about her working life changed. In her new story, a winner of the Diversity in British Beer Writing Grant, she explores what it’s like to work in craft beer with a chronic illness—and how ill and disabled workers can be better supported in the industry.

It’s been another heavy heavy week as we watch the Club Q tragedy in Colorado Springs unfold. It’s hard to figure out how to help or what to do.

I often feel powerless in a world where we continue to choose profit and guns over people. But, I am NOT powerless. I can create powerful art to foster change and acceptance in the world.

I designed MOUNTAINS OF LOVE to symbolize the strength and the courage the people of Colorado (and all over the world) have shown. A collective message that will we not back down. Together, we will climb mountains to end the hate and violence towards our LGBTQ+ community (and all people).

My hope is for a brewery or guild to pick up this label art and use it to advocate for change. I would love if we could raise money to plant trees for Raymond Green Vance, Kelly Loving, Daniel Aston, Derrick Rump, and Ashley Paugh. The trees will be a constant reminder of the strength, courage and wisdom we will carry on with their memory.

I would also love for additional proceeds to be donated to the families or an LGBTQ+ organization.
